Beautiful Forged Ironwork on New Entry Doors

Door Close Up

A close up shows the exquisite detail

Back in the summer, Stein-Houck approached us about the possibility of incorporating Iron in this beautiful Entryway. We huddled with the contractor and door craftsmen and collaboratively came up with an aggressive schedule that would provide installation of complete entry doors in time for decorating for the holidays.

A beautiful addition to the Entryway

All collaboration was done through CAD so the craftsmen in the different trades knew what was going on. We started forging the hundreds of custom scrolls needed for the intricate design. Then we started piecing the design together scroll by scroll. Next was the blasting and pretreatment, an encapsulation layer of zinc, brush blasting and matte powder coat for extreme durability. Gold hand gilding was done on all the scroll ends to really create a wow factor.

Unfortunately, with the many trades working together there were material delays, plus some human error, so the timelines got extremely tight. But the entire team pulled together, worked early and late and hallelujah, a fabulous set of entry doors were done in time to enjoy the good times of the holidays!
